cedartree3.jpg (92461 bytes)STUMP.gif (47391 bytes)Our Hand Split boxes are all crafted from Ancient Growth Western Red Cedar, whose vast groves of these lumbering giants used to cover a substantial portion of the Pacific Northwest. (Find out more about this wood).

Each box is created from a single block of wood that is hand split. The fine grains of the wood and crafting technique yield a box that, from most sides, still appears to be a single piece of wood. (See how the box is made).

boxcubeunoptimized.gif (750287 bytes)10042.jpg (76546 bytes)Many boxes are purchased in sheer appreciation of the grain patterns and luster of the finished wood. Non-custom boxes have a variety of laser-applied Pacific Northwest images (see Gallery). Many customers prefer to supply an image to have applied, creating a personalized gift or keepsake (see how to choose images, and, how to order).
